Or you may wish to browse the antique shops in Menomonie, on the Red Cedar River. While in town don't miss the Red Cedar State Trail, a 14-mile hiking and biking route that brings you to a 846 foot-long former railroad bridge.

Within the region is pretty Maiden Rock a small friendly town and just outside of the downtown area you'll find one of the finest trout streams in the area. Wildlife abounds along the Rush River, you'll be able to see wild turkeys, herons, diving ducks, fox, raccoons, deer and if you look closely enough you'll see the huge nests of the eagles. The air currents provide an excellent place to watch the majestic birds gliding on high air pockets.
